This is my personal blog. This is my outlet for the things–often legal, often not–that spark my thoughts a little more than what I do from 8 -5. I got out of law school by the skin of my teeth and passed the bar by a little more in 2009. It didn’t take long to realize that there was a lot more to the law, and to life, than professors and the career counseling office told me. Naturally.
I work in-house, but my interests are legion and, unfortunately, my eyes are bigger than my stomach: I enjoy books both fictional and non, the law and the courts who make it (as well as the legislatures who make law, too), politics and politicians, restaurants, and so on. This is an effort to “find my voice,” improve my thinking, and improve my writing.
If you’ve feedback, thoughts, or have something interesting to say, I welcome the conversation, and I look forward to getting to know you.
I can also be found on Twitter as @thelegalupdate and @publiusdb.
Also, I’m Daniel Burton, and I wrote this.
